That’s Just Begilliant!

There are times that the NCTE and good ole Webster just need to get behind the eight ball and embrace words that really should be part of the lexicon.  Take “begilliant” for example.  Doesn’t that just sound fun?  “Bah-jill-yunt” was newly coined in my home last night.  Today, I am going to attempt to use it at least three times in hopes of making it a permanent resident in my vocabulary.

And just what is begilliant, you ask.  Well, last night my oldest son decided that  “the little magnet thing to clean off the algea in the fish tank is begilliant – it’s beyond brilliant.”  He went on to add that, ” I like fish tank cleaners.”

Now you tell me, what is begilliant in your day?  Myself, many, many things in my day are begilliant.  A cleaner fish tank is just one of them.

  1. Ah, if you like made-up words, you’d love the book Bloom’s Bouquet of Imaginary Words by Jeffrey and Carole Bloom. I have it and I love it and often use words from it! It’s better than gasparagus (flatulance-inducing vegetable!)
